Richard Noel Marx (born September 16, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois) is an adult contemporary singer and songwriter. He had a string of successful hit singles in the late 1980s and early 1990s, including "Right Here Waiting," "Hazard," and "Hold On to the Nights." Although most of his successful songs were slow ballads like these, many of his songs had an upbeat, classic rock style, such as "Don't Mean Nothing," "Should've Known Better," "Satisfied," and "Wait for the Sunrise." Marx placed himself in the record books by being the first solo artist to have his first seven singles hit the top 5 on the US charts. Marx was born to Dick and Ruth Marx. Marx grew up in a mixed faith household where father was Jewish and his mother was a Christian. His father was a jingle writer for commercials, which is where Marx got his start writing at the tender age of five.

Calling You Lyrics

Richard Marx

I had a dream that you stood right in front of me
And called to me in black and white
Though I could see you / I couldnt reach you
You faded into the light
And when the sun turns a dream to reality
Im left with such an empty space
I feel your spirit / know that Im near it
I swear I can see your face
Hear me calling you / calling you
But you just dont seem to answer anymore
Am I supposed to pretend I dont feel the pain
Like it happened only yesterday
No use in trying / to stop the crying
I cant make it go away
Hear me calling you / calling you
But you just dont seem to answer anymore
Im calling you / calling you
And Im afraid you wont answer anymore
Where is the healing you promised me
Maybe this feeling will burn in me forever
Hear me calling you / calling you
But you just dont seem to answer anymore
Im calling you / calling you
And Im afraid you wont answer anymore
Calling you and Im afraid that you wont answer anymore
